My family thought we were getting the best product by purchasing a John Deere lawn mower, however this has been a nightmare! They charged us over $6,0000. To purchase a lemon then after a year and a half we already couldn’t use it so we had them pick it up to fix it. Then 3 months later it was returned only to realize they not only hadn’t fixed it but it was missing nuts and bolts. Then we tried to mow and it didn’t work so we called and they were super rude but eventually picked it up after that and charged us an additional 700.00 then brought it back and it is still doing the same thing. I will NEVER buy another product from this horrible place, nor would I ever let a friend purchase anything from there either!!!!

A friend purchased the zero turn riding lawnmower. After using it for 1 1/2 year it stopped working. It was taken in for repairs. After 3 months they got it back saying it was fixed. It still didn't work. Guy came out to check it out and found out they never put any of the nuts and bolts back on it. So it was taken back in. After another month they got it back but it still did not work. So after paying $6,000 for the mower and another $1,200 for repairs they are stuck with a mower that still doesn't work. Whenever they call they get hung up on and if they go into the local store they tell them to leave. Apparently, JD doesn't care about their customers. They only care about their pockets getting bigger. Don't waste your time unless you have tons of money to throw away on repairs.

I can't begin to state how irritated I am. This garbage tractor has been in the shop 5 times for repair with less than 200 hours on it. Twice for the exact same problem, the drive shaft to the mower breaks off and then shreds everything around it to include the hydraulic lines. Now it is out of warranty and the exact same problem happens again. $2800.00 to fix they tell me. That's more than the mower deck cost brand new. This particular model is extremely unstable and top heavy. Don't even try to use on any slope. I will NEVER buy a JD product again. They are useless.

I had a small section of the brake line on my old Gator to leak. About a foot or so. I called the dealer in Florence, Alabama (where I had bought a $5k mower) and they estimated $900 to repair. How absurd and ridiculous. And of course they are unionized. Of course they are. I did not get the repair done there.

2012 JD 1023E with ~800 hrs has been garaged >98% of the time. At ~70 hrs white metal top link broke; cost to replace ~$150, ~$35 at Tractor Supply. ~20 hrs later white metal clip holder for top link broke as well. Didn't bother checking price. At ~250 hours gearbox for mid mount mower blew. Replacement cost ~$350. At 375 hrs rear drag arm (which lifts mid mount mower) broke. Original part, inadequate in design, would have cost ~$40, but the JD engineering interns, realizing their error (one of many) developed a “new, improved” replacement costing >$450. Front drag linkage also started separating from mower deck, needing re-welding. At 440 hours ignition switch needed replacement (I also have a >80 yo Ford 9N with OEM ignition)! The 1023E has been sheltered as above.
At 800 hrs, the front axle sprung a "leak" due to bad wheel bearing and seal. I was told the wheel bearing failed due to heavy loads in front end loader, which can't lift more than 500#. (JD claims this is a tractor, I think it is a cost-cutting prototype. the Ford 9n still has OEM wheel bearings). Also at 800 hours the replacement gearbox for the midmount mower developed a leak requiring seal replacement. Full documentation available for above. If you need a tractor, get an orange one.

I purchased a zero turn mower (Z345R) from Lowes in 2020 for about $3000. I get the mower home and noticed that there was a odor. It smelt like incomplete combustion. I called John Deere and was told to take it to one of their dealers which I did. The dealer kept it about two weeks and said it has an odor but was running fine. I got the mower back thinking it was fine but as months went by the smell never went away. I took it to another John Deere dealer and it was discovered that the carburetor was bad. I had it replaced. It cost me $500. I had purchased a Powergard Protection plan but they refused to pay. I will never buy another John Deere mower nor Powergard Protection plan. That's my thought.

I purchased a John Deere Z mower Z330M on 03/16/2023 from Lowe's in Monroe, Mi. After one month and two days the switch to engage the mower blades failed. I contacted John Deere and they placed me in touch with a service Representative and it would be repaired at no cost to me. The dealer charges a $100 pick up and delivery fee and John deere states that I am responsible for this cost even though the mower is only 32 days old. If you need a z-mower I recommend looking for a company that fully stands behind its product.

I have a JD L120 lawn tractor with only 240 hours. I use it mainly to mow lawn and occasionally to pull loads with a lawn cart. Now the transaxle is going bad. I realize this is an older unit but it has very low hours. Nowhere did it say in the manual not to pull heavy loads with it. Very disappointed.

Mower delivered from Lowes, worked 20 minutes then died. JD said to contact Lowe's. It is their responsibility or else I can take it to a service center, they can't help me. They also told me to check battery and spark plug. They may be dead? WTF on a brand new mower? Customer service is beyond pathetic, now trying to deal with Lowes. As of now it is sitting in my front yard. Yes, it has gas and oil. What used to be a great American company is now a joke. No wonder China is eating our lunch.

Bought a John Deere riding mower in August 2020. The day it was delivered the engine seized up. Took 4 weeks to replace and by the time we got it back, we were past the 'return' period so when it came back and wouldn't cut in reverse, we were SOL. Fast forward 2 years later with just 16.8 hours on the mower in total and the transmission breaks. Not covered by warranty because a small stick broke the drive belt, which then caused another issue. A small stick. So you're telling that the big bad John Deere tractors we grew up hearing about being so tough can't handle a stick? Cost $1,000 to fix an $1800 mower. So disappointed in the experience I've had with John Deere's products. Selling the mower to mitigate my losses and avoid future expenses and going with a Cub Cadet or something. Anything else.
