Located at the edge of the Rocky Mountains, Laramie, Wyoming, is a launching pad for people seeking the beauty and thrills of America's Mountain West. Laramie, as the home of WyoTech, a leading #trades school, also launches people into rewarding careers. The leading automotive, diesel, collision, and welding trade school leverages its setting for a uniquely vibrant student life experience, on top of its exceptional training.WyoTech has seen soaring enrollments and job placements, thanks to the strength of the school’s programs, the demand for skilled industry #technicians, and everything Laramie and Wyoming have to offer to students attending the renowned trade school.  Known for its striking landscapes and diverse activities, #Wyoming is ideal for students craving a balance of academics, active lifestyles, and cultural enrichment. The state offers a plethora of indoor and outdoor activities, including museums, shopping, hiking, fishing, camping, off-roading, skiing, and snowboarding. As tourism attractions in Wyoming, such as Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks have surged – a combined 8 million-plus visitors each year – so has WyoTech’s enrollment.  WyoTech’s enrollment has soared over the past five years, with 487 graduates reported in the institution’s 2018 Annual Report to 804 graduates reported in the 2023 Annual Report, as reported to its accrediting agency, ACCSC. The school’s graduation rate outdistances the average from other institutions, according to the National Student Clearinghouse. The national average #graduation rate is 62.3%, compared to WyoTech’s 85% reported to ACCSC in its 2023 Annual Report. An important note to go along with these statistics is that over 90% of students who attended #WyoTech over the last year came from outside of the state. Students come from nearly all 50 states to attend the trade school, creating a community that has a diverse background, yet is still closely knit.“Wyoming is a fantastic place for a trade school because it offers support unlike any other state. Our state has a small population, and the small towns within it have a strong sense of community. Wyoming is still a place where, if something is bothering you or you are missing class, your colleagues will make an effort to check in on you and make sure you’re doing alright,” says Eli Miller, a Student Life Coordinator at WyoTech. WyoTech supports its standout performance and its institutional values by investing in new facilities and programs aligned with market needs and by developing educational partnerships with industry experts. It also invests in helping students take advantage of all the experiences that Wyoming has to offer.  Read more about WyoTech's soaring and job placements due to amenities and desirable Wyoming location here-https://lnkd.in/g9vHucUG

The Double Rainbow Journey: A Philosophical Reflection on Career and Technical EducationAs I drove down the iconic 7-mile bridge toward Key West, a sight took my breath away in the distance—a double rainbow arching gracefully over the horizon. The ethereal beauty of this natural phenomenon made me pause and reflect on the profound journey our students undertake in their Career and Technical Education (#CTE) programs. The Road Less TraveledThe road symbolizes the educational journey you, our cherished students, are navigating. It's not just asphalt and concrete; it's a symbolic pathway filled with challenges, opportunities, and life-altering decisions. The ocean on either side represents the boundless reservoir of knowledge and skills you can tap into, enriching your journey and broadening your horizons. The First Rainbow: Your Career PathThe first, more visible rainbow is a beacon for your overarching career goals. Whether you aspire to be a nurse, an engineer, a chef, or an artist, this rainbow is your guiding light. It's why you wake up daily, attend classes, and strive for excellence. It's the embodiment of your dreams, hopes, and aspirations. The Second Rainbow: Your NicheAbove the first rainbow lies a second, fainter one. A niche within your chosen field is the specialization that sets you apart. It's fainter, not because it's less critical, but because it requires a closer look, a deeper understanding, and a more focused vision to see and appreciate. The Spectrum of OpportunitiesEach color in these rainbows represents a unique facet of your career—a skill to master, a challenge to overcome, a passion to pursue. The multitude of colors signifies that there isn't just one way to succeed; there are multiple avenues, each vibrant and rewarding in its own right. Our Role as CTE InstructorsAs your educators, we consider it our duty to guide you toward these rainbows. We provide the curriculum, mentorship, and real-world experiences you need to navigate this complex landscape. We're not just instructors but your co-travelers on this journey, equally invested in helping you discover your unique place in the spectrum of your chosen field.Your Quest for Self-DiscoverySo, as you continue down this road, remember that your journey is one of self-discovery. It's about finding your color in the rainbow, your unique contribution to the world. And when you see it, you'll realize that the journey was worth every step with all its ups and downs.

🎓 Importance of Extracurricular Activities in College Admissions! 🚀As college admissions become increasingly competitive, students must seek every opportunity to stand out and showcase their unique potential. One way to achieve this is through active involvement in extracurricular activities. Today, I want to emphasize the incredible impact of these activities on a student's college application and how they can enhance their overall skill set.🌟 Boosting College Applications 🌟Extracurricular activities serve as a powerful demonstration of a student's passion, commitment, and leadership abilities. Admissions officers seek individuals who not only excel academically but also display a genuine interest in personal growth and community engagement. By participating in extracurriculars, students show they can manage their time effectively, multitask, and prioritize responsibilities.🏆 Stand Out from the Crowd 🏆With thousands of applications flooding college admission offices each year, it's crucial to distinguish oneself from the crowd. Engaging in activities beyond the classroom sets you apart, creating a well-rounded and dynamic profile that captivates the attention of admissions officers. Whether it's sports, volunteering, debate clubs, arts, or other hobbies, these experiences reflect the multifaceted personality and potential of an applicant.💼 Enhancing Your Skillset 💼Extracurriculars offer a unique learning ground outside the traditional academic setting. They provide an avenue for students to develop essential life skills that transcend classroom knowledge. Through teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and leadership opportunities, students grow personally and professionally. These skills not only benefit their college journey but also prepare them for future career success.📚 Finding Your Passion 📚Participating in diverse extracurricular activities allows students to explore their interests and discover their true passions. Often, these activities provide a hands-on experience in fields they might consider for their future careers. This exploration fosters self-awareness and clarity when choosing a college major or career path, leading to more fulfilling and purpose-driven decisions.🤝 Building a Network 🤝Extracurricular activities offer a unique chance to connect with like-minded peers, mentors, and professionals. These relationships can be invaluable throughout one's educational and professional journey. Networking within clubs, organizations, or community service initiatives opens doors to internships, job opportunities, and collaborations. So, to all the students out there, remember to explore your interests, engage in extracurricular activities, and make the most out of your college application journey. It's not just about the grades; it's about the experiences that shape you into a well-rounded and accomplished individual!#CollegeAdmissions #ExtracurricularActivities #PersonalGrowth #StudentLife

Revving Up Education: Charter Schools with STEM Focus Could Drive Midlands Workforce Development for Scout Motors Inc.Today’s The Post and Courier article highlights the efforts of schools in the Columbia area to prepare students for upcoming job opportunities at the $2 billion Scout Motors plant, a Volkswagen subsidiary that plans to produce 200,000 electric pickups and SUVs annually by 2026. While the article emphasizes enhancing career and technical education programs, internships, and apprenticeships, there is another innovative solution that doesn't involve raising taxes: creating more STEM-focused charter schools in the Midlands and establishing an automotive technical charter school at the Scout Motors Inc. campus.Charter schools offer numerous benefits in addressing the educated workforce needs in the region:>Autonomy and flexibility allow them to adapt quickly to evolving industry needs.>Specialized focus in STEM fields prepares students for careers in the automotive sector.>Collaboration with industry partners provides practical, hands-on experience.>Innovation and experimentation lead to the development of best practices benefiting the entire education system.>Parental choice and competition encourage all schools to improve their performance.>Smaller class sizes offer individualized attention, leading to better academic outcomes.By establishing more STEM-focused charter schools in the Midlands and an automotive technical charter school at the Scout Motors campus, the region could benefit from a tax-free solution that offers specialized, industry-aligned curricula, hands-on learning experiences, innovation, and competition within the education sector. These schools would not only ensure that students are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the automotive industry but also contribute to the overall improvement of educational standards in the area.South Carolina Public Charter School District #kidsfirst
