Singapore Airlines is set to redefine premium travel with a bold S$45 million investment to renovate its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2, aiming to enhance every aspect of the on-ground experience for travelers. The multi-year transformation, beginning on 15 April 2025 and expected to complete by mid-2027, will expand lounge capacity by 50% and introduce luxurious new amenities, including barista-served coffee bars, live cooking stations, enhanced rest areas, and shower facilities. Inspired by the airline’s flagship lounges at Terminal 3, the revamped spaces will reflect Singapore Airlines’ commitment to delivering a seamless, elevated travel journey from the moment passengers enter the terminal.

Singapore Airlines Embarks on S$45 Million Makeover of Changi Terminal 2 Lounges to Redefine Luxury Travel Experience

Singapore Airlines, a member of the Star Alliance network, is set to elevate its lounge experience at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 through a comprehensive S$45 million renovation of its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges. This major transformation, aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and delivering premium service, will roll out in phases over the next two years, starting 15 April 2025 and concluding by mid-2027.

The ambitious revamp will significantly increase lounge space and capacity—by 50%—and will introduce premium enhancements inspired by the airline’s renowned Terminal 3 flagship lounges. Guests can look forward to sophisticated new interiors, expanded seating areas, enhanced food and beverage options, and a variety of upgraded amenities.

This strategic investment reflects Singapore Airlines’ continued focus on delivering a seamless and refined travel experience from ground to air. The redesigned lounges are envisioned to bring SIA’s hallmark service, comfort, and design philosophy to Terminal 2, ensuring consistency across its home base at Changi Airport.

New First Class SilverKris Lounge Highlights

The all-new First Class SilverKris Lounge will offer a larger, brighter environment, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and elevated ceilings. The lounge will also feature a refreshed bar experience, including morning barista services and an expanded live cooking station, serving a curated menu of Singaporean favourites, Asian delicacies, and Western classics. A broadened self-service buffet will echo the luxurious offerings available at Terminal 3’s SilverKris Lounge.

Business Class SilverKris Lounge Enhancements

The Business Class lounge will expand its footprint by 30%, creating room for a dedicated quiet zone with recliner chairs designed for pre-flight relaxation. The central living area will be reimagined with a mix of stylish seating—wingback chairs, cozy sofas, and productivity pods—for leisure and work alike. A new full-service bar will complement the upgraded buffet, delivering freshly brewed coffee in the morning and handcrafted cocktails in the evening.

KrisFlyer Gold Lounge Redesign

Catering to Star Alliance Gold members flying in Economy or Premium Economy Class, the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will double in capacity, featuring flexible seating for lounging, dining, and working. The redesigned space will also include modern restrooms and private shower facilities, offering greater convenience for long-haul travelers and frequent flyers.

Timeline of Renovations

To ensure minimal inconvenience to customers, the construction work will proceed in carefully planned phases:

  • First Class SilverKris Lounge: Construction begins 15 April 2025, with completion expected by Q4 2025.
  • Business Class SilverKris Lounge: Renovation starts in Q4 2025.
  • KrisFlyer Gold Lounge: Refurbishment begins in the first half of 2026.

Each lounge will remain operational with temporary adjustments during their respective renovation periods.

Singapore Airlines is investing S$45 million to revamp its lounges at Changi Terminal 2, offering travelers enhanced space, luxury dining, and premium amenities by mid-2027. This upgrade underscores the airline’s commitment to elevating the travel experience at its flagship hub.

Singapore Airlines’ revitalization of its Terminal 2 lounges is a bold move to reinforce its reputation for world-class service and to meet the evolving expectations of today’s premium travelers.
