FAQs
What maintenance is required for solid oak doors?
These doors require minimal maintenance, just regular cleaning and occasional treatment to maintain their natural beauty and integrity.
Are these doors suitable for any room?
Yes, their robust and versatile design makes them perfect for almost any room, enhancing both the aesthetics and functionality of your space.
Please note that all of our doors are initially unfinished (unless otherwise stated) allowing you to choose a finish to your liking, the doors displayed on our website vary in appearance due to the different finishes being used by ourselves and customers alike, in addition to the natural qualities of the wood this will also contribute to the door’s appearance. All hinges, handles, levers and door accessories are for illustration purposes only and sold separately. We cannot guarantee an exact match to images used across our door product imagery for the reasons stated above.
Maintenance
Installation
This engineered door must be fitted with a minimum of 3 hinges. This is due to the weight of the product, which can be attributed to the high grade materials used in the construction of the door. Choosing to ignore this requirement will void your warranty.
Storage - Flat and Dry Only
As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc. For more detailed information on how to treat you newly delivered doors click here.
Wooden Product Finishing
For any solid wood products such as doors, skirting and architrave, we recommend a quality hardwax oil such as Treatex or Osmo Oils. As these products are handmade, sometimes a small amount of sanding may be required to achieve the perfect finish. Modern oil finishes are extremely durable and hardwearing, they are very simple to apply and fast drying. Once your chosen finish has been applied, generally very little maintenance is required. It is always advisable to cover any scratches that may occur over time. The benefit of using a hardwax oil is that this is a very simple process of re-applying the finish to the affected area with a cloth.
