With dirt bike prices really getting out of hand, it's hard to find a cheap dirt bike.

That's reliable, but I want to show you the top dirt bikes that are reliable, that are still affordable.

So you don't have to take out a loan just to have fun.

The first thing is: what type of riding are you going to be doing so? The four main types of dirt bikes are motocross bike, trail bike, Enduro bike and dual sport bike.

If you're a beginner that just wants to ride off-road on the trails out in your farm, then you want to choose a trail bike, and these are generally generally going to be the most reliable and the cheapest to buy just because they're, low performance but low performance doesn't necessarily mean it's bad and outdated.

In fact, they have the softest plush suspension.

They will last the longest without blowing up if you maintain them and they're the most affordable, because they're cheap to maintain and just cheaper to buy because they don't have high-tech Parts.

But if you are planning on riding on the street, then you're going to need a street legal dirt bike for riding on and off road.

This would be a dual sport bike and then the motocross bike is best if you're going to race Motocross but I, don't recommend them or an Enduro bike if you're a beginner the begin, the Enduro bike is basically a high performance trail bike.

So if you've already built up the confidence of learning the basic techniques on a trail bike, then you might be ready to upgrade to an Enduro bike that has more power.

More suspension.

Uh just can handle a bit more, so the first cheap and reliable dirt bike that you can buy used is the Honda xr100.

Also the CRF 100, it's just the newer name for it.

Honda isn't making them anymore, but it's basically a mid-sized air-cooled 100cc dirt bike with a clutch.

It's just super easy to ride.

It has a nice low seat height.

If you're in the four foot, eight to five foot, four inch height range, it's Kickstart, but it's easy to ride.

It's easy to start.

So you don't really need electric start unless you have a really bad leg, they're, usually in the 800 dollar, to fifteen hundred dollar range, depending on the condition and your local market.

The next cheap used dirt bike is a Honda XR 200.

They aren't being sold either.

The last time they're sold was in 2 2002 in the United States, and it has a little bit taller seat height, depending on which year you buy the 86 to 91, have a little bit more suspension, taller seat height than the 92 to 2002 models, uh they're, all Kickstart, but with proper kickstarting technique.

It's pretty easy to start, especially if the jetting is right, but this is like one of the all-time best beginner bikes for adults, because it's super easy to ride, learn to learn the clutch on.

Just the engine is buttery smooth.

It's super predictable power, the suspension is nice and clutch plush and the seat height is low with a super comfy seat.

So if you don't mind Kickstart only and buying a used dirt bike, the xr200 is great.

The problem is they're getting hard to find, especially in good condition and then moving up to a full-size dirt bike that still has a lower seat height is the Yamaha TTR 230 they've been made since 2005 and they're still being made.

They haven't really changed at all, so it doesn't really matter which year you buy the lower hour, the better condition, the better it does have.

Electric start, which is really nice, no backup Kickstart, which isn't really a big deal.

As long as you keep the battery charged again, it's super easy to maintain and they're generally cheaper to find in the used Market than the Honda CRF230, just because the Honda seems to be more in demand, so higher prices, the next bigger cheap used dirt bike is the Honda xr250 another one.

That's not being sold today, I stopped in 2004, but it's just another really good full-size dirt bike, that's a little bit bigger and taller than the xr200, so it can handle a little bit more weight.

It's better.

If you're a little bit taller, it does have Kickstart and it just makes takes really good power really smooth from idle.

All the way up to about 8 000 RPM, it's just super easy to ride and control, and the suspension is nice and plush.

The TTR 230 and the xr250 are a little bit heavier compared to like a a modern, 250 Enduro bike.

But you really don't notice the extra weight unless you fall over and have to pick the bike up and even then there are some techniques that you can do to pick it up a little bit easier if you're not super strong and then, if you're, looking for a cheap used, motocross bike.

So if you've already learned the basic techniques and are ready to race Motocross, then if you have short legs, then you can look for a KX100.

That's a Kawasaki 100cc two-stroke, it's basically a big wheel, KX85 that has a slightly bigger engine and it just has a little bit more bottom end power.

So it's a little bit easier to ride.

A lot of females use these from Motocross or trail riding.

There's some things that you can do to tune it for a little bit more bottom end to mid-range power, to make it even easier to ride, and then the YZ125 from Yamaha is just an overall amazing.

Motocross bike and they've always been reliable and you can find them pretty much anywhere at a decent price.

The newer ones 2006 and newer uh they're, generally a lot more expensive, so an older one, so like late 90s, early 2000s, they're, usually cheaper and they're really reliable if you just take care of them.

But if you haven't learned the basic techniques and are struggling with your confidence riding off-road I want to give you a free gift.

It is my basic techniques guide that goes through the proper body position and just how to use your body while riding off-road so that you have more control.

So you stay safe.
